We all need traffic to our sites, and preferably that of the organic variety. (i.e Traffic derived from internet surfers using the search engines ) Some of us knowthat the majority of SEO (Search Engine Optimisation) practices take some time to take affect. Here are 5 SEO ResourcesSEO Resources areas to work on quickly, so you can start seeing (at least) a small increase in the site traffic.

Getting Organic TrafficSEO Derived traffic can be complex and enduring, and it’s influenced by some differing factors, including:

* The current optimization of your website
* How old is your domain is and,
* Your skill in working with these

There are ways however, to get SEO results that you can start now that will result in a big improvement.

1. Keyword Basics:

Do your research – this is of most importance.

Services and free tools at you disposal such as the Google external keyword tool (search for this on google it will shoot straight to the top). Once you’re up to speed with that move into the paid (more advanced) applications and tools out there. Keyword density is history, there is no density you should be aiming for. Natural inclusion of your targeted words is the current emphasis, working them in when ever possible without being synthtetic or excessive.

Hint: The quickest results can be made by targeting a larger number of terms than have a lower level of competition.

2. Use only The Best URLS:
There are many steps that go into making great URLs. Start from picking a domain name that is memorable, short and includes your main term. Whilst hyphens are ok, remember though more than twostarts to get spam-like and excessive.

For your individual page name(s), include a relevant keyword, so that each URL looks something like;
“www.your-keyword.com/targeted-page-keyword.html” Wherepossible, avoid using dynamic page variables like session IDs.

These add a lot of unnecessary junk to your URL’s.

Hint: If you already have a site and can’t alter the page structure to use keywords in it’s URLs, then you may want to consider purchasing additional domains (to create mini sites) that support various areas within your niche. These mini sites will drive traffic to your main site.

3. Look for Long Tail Keywords:

Long tail terms are often the secret to great search engine rankings. Long tail terms include at least three words or more, and when you find the ones pertaining to your niche you will be facing less competition. In addition, the resulting traffic you’ll generate as a result will be much more targeted, and you’ll see better results.

Hint: It will help to add long(er) tail keywords toyour URL’s as well (ref #2). Doing a quick scan and you will see that
most “experts” agree. The buyers are found with the Long Tail keywords.

4. Intelligent Internal Links:

Websites should always properly use their internal links to their own benefit. It’s an easy way to help each of your pages gain a targeted and higher search engine ranking. Make sure to include each page’s main targeted term or phrase in the internal link, and always be sure to reference your other pages with links within your site’s content as much as possible when appropriate.

E.G: You sell a type of appliance. Make sure that anywhere that your keyword is found on your website that the keyword is linked to the specific appliance page. This will assist the individual appliance page rank higher in the search engines.

5. Use HTML:
The benefits of various script languages and other code are lost when they aren’t searchable in the search engines. Everything you do you want to be helping your cause of ranking. This means staying with easily accessed HTML for your site(s). Avoid too many forms, frames of any sort, or any code that isn’t searchable.

Hint: Migrate toWordPress. Google Loves Wordpress. If you haven’t yet, look for ways to use WordPress into your business.
