In What Way Have Projects Changed For Children Since The Introduction Of The Search Engine?

As a child, I would be set a project: one lesson, to be completed the following week, after I had spent time at the public library, trawling through reference books. I would also ask my mum and dad or others who may have insight into any particular area for their help in the task.

I noticed a big change when my own kids were set assignments. The small town where we lived had what I would describe as a part time library. It was not always open when the children arrived home from school. They were, nevertheless, given projects which needed research and maybe two days in which to complete this task. Teachers were making the assumption that all the children would have access to the internet through a computer at home and would therefore be able to research quickly.

Search engines became a part of our daily lives. Medieval musical instruments, well known sports women, historical data, were all searched for. Sometimes because searches at that time were a bit unreliable, due to wrong search engine placement, it was difficult to locate the exact information which was required. An seo company could, in the early days, hide lots of text in their code which would ensure their client’s web site came up in the first page of search results, but often this web site had no relevance to the searcher’s requirements and the experience could be exasperating for the searcher.

Search engines today have become much more sophisticated and search engine positioning is based on a number of factors. It is no longer okay to hide lots of text in any web page in order to maintain a good Search Engine Placement. The web site has to have different levels of relevant information to hit a top place in search engine positioning.

Businesses and other web site owners today look to find an Search Engine Optimization Company which can assist them in making sure they are getting the relevant hits on their web site without misleading the searchers. Youngsters can today, therefore, be more confident that when they are doing research for projects, they will find appropriate information much more rapidly than in the past.

It is now the case that in Britain the vast majority of children do have access to a computer in their home, in public libraries or in school, teachers are much more relaxed about expecting this quick turnaround in projects from kids.

Mams and dads and other adults can rest easy knowing that children have a method to research and locate whatever information they require for an assignment rapidly. The youngsters just need to be sure that from the information they have located they take notes and then write their homework, using their own words, to be certain that they are not unwittingly accused of plagiarism.
