Sure thing, I know that a lot of people are telling you to become a guest blogger, so let me guess, you just haven’t managed to get around to writing to your favourite blogs to offer them a post of yours, right? Well, today I am going to explain it to you in no uncertain terms exactly why you need to become a guest blogger, and what it is going to do for you. Let’s start!

Before I start, I need to talk about what is hands down going to be one of the most important things that you ill ever do as a webmaster. That is content. The one thing that I learned, well before I first read The SEO Method review, is that the content that you create and publish online is a direct representation of your own persona online. Most of the time, we create content for our own websites, however, the real key is in getting a spread of your content throughout your own niche, or space. By not spreading your content, you are in fact limiting yourself within your own little corner within your space.

This is where guest blogging can really go a very long way. Let me use an example. Imagine that you follow a great blog within your niche that ranks quite well, and has a lot of followers. Imagine being given the green light to create an article for that blog, with your name and a link attached to it. Imagine when people finish reading your article, then visit your site, naturally this is going to have some great benefits, right? Now, think about doing this over and over again with several blogs. Its pretty powerful stuff!

The one argument that I see time and time again is that people aren’t all that confident that owners of blogs will want to read what you have to say. This could’t be more wrong. A lot of webmasters will outsource their content willingly, so to receive content from another expert in that specific space will always be a pleasure, in most cases anyway. As always, aiming too high form the start can be a problem, but if you start small, then work your way up, you can easily identify yourself as an expert from the content that you create.

Now, the good stuff. What can you expect in return when you become a guest blogger? Well, this depends on the size of the blog, and the overall benefits in the long run. Sometimes, creating a piece of content may not earn a backlink, or even credit, however, in the long run when you are identified as an expert, the blog will want to be seen as being in association with you, so you will earn more credit as time goes on. However, in most cases, a backlink and your name is quite reasonable.

So, what I can guess by you (the reader) so far is that you have found this article because you want to become a guest blogger, or want to know more about guest blogging. Starting is the easy part, I will say this much, however, it can be as simple as this. Start small. Contact a few blog owners, and make an offer. You will be surprised at the responses that you get in return, and you will be well on your way to identifying yourself as the expert within your niche!
